Controller/Financial Manager

Guernsey Tingle Architects, Williamsburg, VA seeks a full-time Controller/Financial Manager. We are a 20-person architectural and interior design firm established in the early 1980’s. The firm has experienced steady growth over the past two decades. We seek a creative financial manager that can manage the daily accounting processes, while also directing the firm into new practices and new technologies. The responsibilities of this position include:

• Financial management: Job costing, time management, historical reporting and financial projections.
• Bookkeeping: A/R, A/P, invoicing, payroll, taxes, quarterly and annual reporting for multiple states.
• Information technology: Accounting software management, liaison with internal and external IT managers, hardware & software purchases, archiving, IT support.
• Human resources and insurance: Heath & life insurance, general liability, E&O insurance, worker’s comp, SIMPLE IRA, personnel policies and corporate donations.
• Administrative staff management: Schedule and manage admin staff, provide admin and marketing support as needed.
• Liaison to outside consultants: Coordination with CPA, investment advisor, banking advisor and legal advisor.

Candidates shall have at least a 4-year college business-related degree (accounting preferred); at least 5 years of experience with architectural, engineering and/or construction firms; and working knowledge of QuickBooks and Deltek programs.
